Why The Free Mind?

Bridging Gaps

The Free Mind is a young magazine for Psychology and Education, created by students for students and everyone interested in the field. Because we regard it as important that our magazine is accessible to a wide range of readers, it is entirely anglophonic and aims at bridging the gap between professional journals and student papers by providing ideas, insights, and inspirations based on current research in Psychology and Education.

Our magazine features contributions by experts and students, stimulates discussion and contact between people. In each issue, we invite 'Special Guests', professionals who conduct research in the respective theme, to write a piece. We encourage students to practice writing skills while having fun, and submit their favourite papers for the section 'Paper of the Term' to get a first glimpse of how it is to publish their works.

Get Readers Involved

You as a reader are invited to get involved in the 'Discussion Forum' online and react to the reports of actual discussions that we organized at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Students will benefit from the offers at the 'Help Desk', where they can receive practical support with regard to their studies and research, or find other people who share their interests for a future project.

Keep Updated

Because we are located at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, we will keep our readers up to date on 'Ongoing Research' in our department.

Entertain

Ultimately, we want to make you laugh. Just have a look at our 'Laughing Corner' if you feel like it. Please browse or download our current issue to see what our magazine has to offer. Please also do not keep your thoughts for yourself, but contact us if you have any remarks or comments.

We wish you a pleasant reading.
